Laurel leaf - Pendant

Detail from the golden wreath of laurel leaves offered by the Metropolitan of Smyrna Chrysostomos to the commander-in-chief of the Greek army Leonidas Paraskevopoulos when he retired from his post in Smyrna (1920). It bears the inscription "SMYRNA 2022".
A wreath is a symbol of victory, happiness, success and protection.
